The No Budget - Budget

I think one of the worst things to do is make up and live on a budget.

The No Budget - Budget takes care of this dreaded problem. Here's how The No Budget - Budget works.

First, get your checkbook out and reconstruct all the checks you wrote for a three-month period.

Knock out all non-recurring items and put into the miscellaneous category.

List all the recurring items like rent, electricity, phone bill, food expenses, mortgage and insurance.

Average out the three months by what you are spending in each of these main categories.

Knock out expenses that are reoccurring that are frivolous, very expensive, unnecessary or you can just live without.

When you are left with the basic necessities and some miscellaneous you have arrived at your budget.

Lastly, add up your net income (after tax) and match it to your budget.

If you have money left over, pat yourself on the back and start a new category called savings or investing.

No money left over or even worse, a deficit means you are doing something very wrong.

Stare at your No Budget - Budget for a long time and think of ways your "after tax income" will fit your most basic important needs. You may have to downsize your living arrangements or cut down on the expensive eating out category or prime cuts of meat or "boutique groceries" from health food stores. Get those categories that are glaring at you in line.

After this, you don't have to look at your No Budget - Budget until the following year. Learn to spend less, save more, prepare for a "rainy day" without having to constantly budget yourself. Get in the habit of paying off debt and Using credit cards responsibly. By this, I mean paying off the balance when due and not using them to pile up debt that cannot be paid off from month to month.

If you have no will power, cut up all credit cards except one and use for emergency purposes only.

After several months the No Budget - Budget will be part of your routine and by the following year maybe you can look forward to putting back some frills.

Good Luck!
